With blockchain you can either make a private transactions or u can use an escrow if you want to rely on a third party to verify your transaction. So, you have both centralized and decentralized systems to opt into. That's not the case with normal transactions, where you're forced to take the permission of banks and governments to use your hard-earned money and they have full authority to deny it.
Moral: Don't trust idiots that try to influence others without doing proper research on the topic.

I think that Blockchain is the real gold mine. When (NOT if) the Fed releases it’s cryptocurrency, I think Bitcoin and the others will tank.
Meanwhile, the Blockchain technology it all runs on will be changing how we use credit cards and passwords. Medical records management will also change. I don’t have any room here to list everything, but the infrastructure is definitely where I think the money is.

He gets part of it wrong. Blockchain does not require trust. It is based on math and standards. The reason blockchain is so disruptive is that it is a trustless system that cannot be stolen by politicians or banks. If you use a hardware wallet then you are your own bank.
