30 gedachten over “Steve Stricker explains why he left Patrick Reed off Ryder Cup roster | Golf Central | Golf Channel”

  1. I am more disappointed in not seeing some other golfers on the European team. The first day's results speak for me. You cannot always pick golfer's from their past Ryder's Cup appearances. Yes, as you can see by what the new young guys did.

  2. I’m for the USA but Poulter, Rahm, and Sergio are great at the Ryder Cup……thank God we have this lead but we’ve seen that movie before…….let’s go USA…..put the foot on the neck tomorrow!!!

  3. I think it's one year were the golf is just not exciting anymore. The EU team is looking really weak, and it just does not feel like golf anymore, more like some NFL coverage with much younger guys. And guys like Bryson it just making the whole game look stupid hitting his 350+ drives regularly, making the whole thing pointless.
I miss the style/class/etiquette of golf, I miss Peter Aliss and Colin Montgomerie with Butch Harmon commentating and Tiger Wood/Duval playing, to me this isn't golf anymore, it some sort of modern american sport.
Players are allowed to use trackman and GPS tools on the course, and the ball is just going crazy far and being more forgiving, it takes the fun out of the game.
And every coverage of golf feel like a mix of stats/Tiger Woods 2018 PC game/NFL mixed up style with fist pumps/ads. Face palm.

The Koepka vs Bryson situation is a great example of the lack of style golf has nowadays. It is attracting the type of people that usually go to Man Utd games or NFL or NHL, the game is no longer. Plus you cannot even go to you own club and play anymore, you have to book an online time through a PC, and make an appointment and stick to it. In the olden days, you would just hang out and take a random time so you would not have to stress.
I even see people nowadays on their phones between holes, it's just crazy.

  4. Xander, Jordan and Tony are solid (and deserving) Captain's pick. Berger, English, and Schauffele are good role players when paired with the right partner.

  5. Stricker is too classy to give the actual answer, which is that Reed isn't respected (he is for his talent, but not for his conduct) by the other players. He has cheated way, way too many times, and at least 3 members of this team have commented on it publicly in the past. Bad chemistry. The last time Reed was on the RC team, he was a complete jerk when paired with Jordan Spieth. Players don't forget that crap.

  6. Sometimes it takes people with Nads to do something. Stric made the call and admitted he would be the one to live with it. M.A. G. A.

  7. To me, it's the 'Miracle' method. Like Herb Brooks, it looks like Strick is looking for a certain kind of guy. A combination of skill and demeanor. I think Reed probably didn't meet his criteria.

  8. I was glad to see a younger group out there for a change. I would have liked to see Kisner since he’s a home town guy. For me DeChambeau acted strange on Sat. and mad all day Sun. Otherwise he played great. The guys should have held off on the drinks before the post game interview. Half of them appeared to be lit by then and IMO……not cool.

  9. kevin na not being on the team was a crime…. looked like the good ol white boys club….finau was just a throw in for diversity

  10. Reed did not play well enough to qualify. Besides, nobody likes him and he was a weinnie when he thought he was 'Captain America'. I thin its safe to say we have the best team out there.

  11. Patrick Reed would be a major distraction. People would always be wondering about what he's doing. Patrick brought all of this on himself. Personally I was very happy that he was not selected

  12. No explanation necessary, Steve knows I wouldn’t watch with Reed on the roster. Me and millions of others who are not a fan of cheater.
