If you’ve been following along on battlestate games twitter and in my discord over the last few days then you would have noticed an uptick in tarkov arena discussions and that is because starting TOMORROW we should be seeing some new info coming out around tarkov arena. BSG will have it sounds like multiple booths or showings for the game along with what I think is both private and public testing? It’s actually a bit confusing which honestly is on par though for BSG and I’d be worried if it wasn’t to be honest XD.

Although I do sometimes get a hand from BSG and occasionally get to talk to Nikita or other members of the team, I do not work for BSG. I also work entirely off public information and past experiences of working in game dev myself, as well as following this game closely for several years. Unless I state very clearly otherwise, the information you’re about to hear should be taken as speculation. You can either get no information or speculation, that’s all we have to go off of these days unfortunately which is why it’s easier to just say Thursday whenever anyone asks for dates. If you want hard facts and dates you won’t get them, period.

Cheaters, Audio and Server issues … ? It's good to hear about arena but what about the main game that made arena possible?
GP coin will become some sort of currency for Arena for sure.
Would arena help with teaching how to deal with pvp in the main game? That's what I'm hoping for, ala killcams, stuff like that.

i don't see how BSG sinking a part of its staff and funds into a different project wouldn't affect tarkov's development
Are you going to discuss the 12 to 15 minute wait times for raids to begin. Game instability. Down detector is reporting instability every day. It's worst then day one of wipe.
since we wont have backpacks i think inertia wont be a HUGE deal in arena, specially if they diminish the effect vests and etc have on movement, BSG made a lot of changes to vests that definitly benefit arena IF they do share stats.
we also saw the early development hockey ring/stadium map on one of the devs pc
i thought arena will affect base game.

Arena currency will be brought back to stash and it will be like a gold coin that you can give to traders for special items or lightkeeper. Late game stuff or say early trader barter goods.
Reason I say this is due to my belief that arena won’t be popular with base Tarkov players and all cod/bf guys will try it out for a bit but won’t stick, so BSG will need to incentivize players to play it. Maybe not initially you’ll have good things but later on definitively. Additionally arena will be great for leveling up gun skills and less often leveled up skills.

The worst aspect of the game is the one aspect they are trying to make a standalone game. The movement and gun play. They need to focus on the loot tables. AI. Missions. Cheaters. Server stability. Hit reg. Recoil system. Performance. Animation. Hit boxes. But nope. Let’s take our unique game and make a shitty cod.

I cant wait for the pmc karma to make its way into the game. Gonna be a huge change if they make the penalty steep enough for killing your own faction
