Todays Escape from Tarkov video’s main subject is complete tin foil hat speculation around Escape from Tarkov full release that I want to put out there and get discussed in the community ahead of a super important TarkovTV this coming Tuesday on Battlestate Games twitch channel. In case you guys didn’t know there will be a TarkovTV on twitch this Tuesday and Battlestate Games only do these when there’s something important to talk about for Escape from Tarkov news.
With Escape from Tarkov Arena Release being so close and the wipe 4 to 6 weeks away there is a lot of I’m sure BSG want to talk about here. So we will for sure be hearing about at least arena and the stuff BSG are working on like hopefully Unity21 and the netcode changes coming in patch 14 but we’ll have to wait and see. Although I do sometimes get a hand from BSG and occasionally get to talk to Nikita or other members of the team, I do not work for BSG. I also work entirely off public information and past experiences of working in game dev myself, as well as following this game closely for several years. Unless I state very clearly otherwise, the information you’re about to hear should be taken as speculation. You can either get no information or speculation, that’s all we have to go off of these days unfortunately which is why it’s easier to just say Thursday whenever anyone asks for dates. If you want hard facts and dates you won’t get them, period.
So BSG have confirmed Edge of Darkness will be removed from the store at the end of this year. What do you think?

Game sucks anyways, Your better of waiting for unreal engine 5 tarkov competitor, games are starting too see the money they racked out from extract shooters will be competition. Unless you wanna fite hackers and twitch streamer that make money killing u and take all your loots and dont even have kill cams how you died and you like sitting in menu screen bee my guess but i recommend to go play something interesting that doesn't involve Russian logic. SPT is a start since its european and north american logic modded into the game that was done under three years, This includes better game quality, smarter Ai. Very sad.
I think there's something you're not considering.
Edge of Darkness comes with Arena. They want to sell arena as a separate thing but got push back when they tried to charge EoD purchasers for it.
So it could very well just be that they're removing EoD to remove another avenue for purchasing Arena other than you straight up buying Arena.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they put a new edition in next year that's literally just EoD as it was but without Arena.
I wish Tarkov reworked bosses.
The current way they are designed is so lame and boring.
They should be Solo / Coop raid experience with increased raider / guard type AI. With more defence possitions etc. In short their base should be well thought and defences should be better designed. For solo / coop experience they could probably program their guard posts and patrol routs way better. They could add also some scripted events and triggers etc…
Bosses should work like Raids in WoW. You get a shot to kill them ONCE a week to prevent non stop farming.
Open world bosses can be in game as well, but they should only be optional (like cultists, goons currently). Some side quest to kill them once would be fine I guess.
Main bosses imho deserve better than some random encounter where whole server is rushing to kill them.

I just wonder what is the business model of BSG? I purchased EOD when I started (3 years ago) and never spent another dime since then. Are there that many new players every month to ensure regular income to BSG ? I surely hope so but in the same time this game is so selective by nature and so rich in content that I always wondered how they make a living…

full release… what? atm the game is a collection of maps, contrary to what Nikita told us in several occasions that the final/full release will be a open world without "raids".

If game doesnt stop wiping I probably wont come back. Its too much of a time sink to just lose all your progress every 6 months

I have been playing this since it was possible and i stopped when it got really filled up with bullshit, i still followed it's progress and whatnot and i really wonder : What is going to be released? The interconnected game they promised? I doubt it. The "full" release will just be some bullshit excuse and it still will be just what they printed money on : a so called "extraction shooter" fucking bsg man, such a shitshow
I don't think they'll make it in time, there has been not that much progress in the "fix your game" topic.
Of curse i hope i'm wrong, and if 1.0 just means nothing and updates and content keep being added on a regular base it' fine for me

I was supporting bsg and have bout 2k hours in tarkov but cheater rampage and optimalization…
I just cant see full release in this state.

I personally have a life and can never get passed level 40 and I’m 6 or 7 wipes in and I would be okay with wipes I just kind of wish they were yearly because those of us who have normal day jobs and or kids can only play for a couple hours on the weekends. But wouldn’t mind if it was permanent death because that would definitely make it truly feel like you need to escape tarkov and survive. but on the other hand I understand where people are coming from when not wanting that aspect as well either way they do it they are going to please some and disappoint others so damned if you do damned if you don’t but still love the game and can’t wait for full release

honestly the removal of edge of darkness is interesting, I think its good because it will hopefully end the never-ending cycle of buyers remorse, literally anyone I have ever played with that has bought eod has said they regret it, as for me I don't particularly regret it, I bought it on sale so I didnt have to spend as much but still a shit ton of money to drop for the average person, and I didnt buy it right away I waited like 4 wipes till I bought it
Ngl, last thing we need is Tarkov having a full release at this point. The game needs a solid overhaul.
